August / September Update

Summer, alongside many conferences and larger gatherings, has also been a slower season for us - a time when our staff can take vacations, rest, and in different settings even find fresh creativity for future plans.

Dear Friends,

Warm greetings from Wisła, Poland!

The world around us changes so quickly that simply keeping up with cultural shifts and new trends takes effort. In the midst of it all, the best news remains: the Bible continues to be the most reliable reference for understanding human behavior.

At best, contemporary science only confirms what Scripture has been teaching for centuries. Recently, I read in a several-hundred-page book that people should learn to be forgiving and thankful… truths we already know well from the Bible! Human hearts have not changed; what has changed is that today there are far more options and false theories to choose from. The result? Many are lost in the noise of endless choices.

Over the past weeks, we have faced a very difficult family situation. Our 7-year-old granddaughter Heidi – whom some of you may remember was born with a serious heart condition and had already undergone two open-heart surgeries – had to face her third surgery in mid-July at the Central Children’s Hospital in Warsaw. The operation lasted nine hours, and at first her heart would not start working. Four days later they reopened her and implanted a pacemaker. Just as she began regaining strength, she suffered a critical blockage and severe pain. At 4 a.m., doctors had to rush her back into surgery to remove a major clot. By God’s grace, she survived. Last Tuesday, after four weeks in the hospital, she was finally able to return home, 400 km away.

You can imagine the trauma for her parents, Szczepan and Mary, who stayed by her side the entire time, taking turns so one of them could also care for their two younger children at home. Her situation is still delicate as doctors fine-tune her medications, but she is alive – and we are deeply thankful. Many, many friends prayed faithfully, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The doctors said her case is “one in a million.” Please continue to remember Heidi in your prayers, trusting with us that the Lord will bring her to full health.

Another important update: after much prayer and reflection, our New Europe Communications (501c3 in the U.S.) Board has decided to close this entity. For more than 30 years, faithful friends have served on the Board – offering guidance, support, and vital help with fundraising. It has been an enormous blessing. Yet times have changed, and today there are simpler ways to transfer funds. We have now partnered with TrustBridge, a highly respected organization specializing in these services. They handle all tax-exempt documentation and provide reliable systems. We already have an account with them under DeoLink (#243182). Several of our projects are also described there for those who may want to partner with us financially. TrustBridge DeoLink

Dear friends, we see God’s blessing everywhere – and one of the greatest blessings is your friendship. Thank you for your prayers, support, and encouragement. We deeply value your partnership in this mission. Please continue to pray for us as we press on, trusting the Lord’s guidance in all things.

With gratitude and hope,

  • Clarity regarding a possible outreach in Madagascar – discussions are still ongoing.

July & August in numbers:

From SzukajacBoga.pl (PL), GrowYourLife.net (EN), DrugiKrok.pl (PL), Nadiya.in.ua (UA)

  • 9,110 – people starting their journey to Jesus
  • 2,126 – people growing in their faith
  • 8,746 – conversations with E-coaches

A few testimonials and decisions after completing the course "Gambling - the game you always lose" which is on the DrugiKrok.pl platform:

  • I want to stop gambling. I told my partner and loved ones, and I signed up for therapy. I also sent him this article so he could understand what I couldn’t describe.
  • To come clean about everything. To admit to myself and my loved ones that I am sick and I need to get treatment. And to sort out my personal and financial affairs.
  • The most important thing is that after this course, I gained faith and hope. I am so happy about everything I learned here, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart! I won’t give up; I’m on a very good path.
  • The course helped me a lot. I’m not going back to how things were before, I’m doing well, and I’ve signed up for therapy.
  • Realizing that I have a problem. All the patterns described above apply to me – to what I thought and what I felt. Reading this course, I saw myself and my problem.
